Online video and audio calls

The calls are the hottest topic in recent years. We utilize different 3rd party services to produce calling solutions.

technologies

Depending on the application complexity, the audio/video calls integration might be implemented on the frontend (we use ReactJS) or on the backend. Our tech stack would use Python (with Django, Flask, or Falcon) and microservice infrastructure in the latter case.

3rd party vendors

We work with Twilio, AWS Chime, Zoom, and Vonage APIs. Due to the constant improvements in call quality by all the service providers, a company's decision to work with usually depends on our customer's cost and infrastructure preferences.

aproach

The most important part of the project is understanding the customer needs, so every development with audio/video calls starts with the business analysis phase. Based on the result, we produce the architecture and propose a timeline that would fit this specific case.

Our solution

The chat solution was created as an internal Syntech Software product and became a white-label chat solution which can be integrated as is inside any website or to be used as a communication engine for any marketplace or online platform.

  • Good documentation.
Cons
In-app conferencing is not a primary way of Vonage. Vonage positioning itself as a replacement for the telephone exchange. And it is not clear (in docs and demo app) assertion that only 16 members can join the conference at the moment. It may be a limitation of some pricing plans and must be rechecked.
